Tai Kwun’s Laundry Steps will become the ultimate training ground this December for five aspiring circus practitioners. Taking the stage and making their debut, these artists are ready to prove their mettle!
Tai Kwun Circus Plays has been committed to serving as an incubator for circus artists. Circus Bootcamp, now in its third edition, sets out to discover local juggling and circus talents. This year, new recruits were taken in through open auditions. Five participants who stood out from the crowd attended a six-month special training programme including performance workshops. They also came under the tutelage of professional performers who passed on techniques and insights to their future successors.
The five up-and-comers have different tricks up their sleeves. Not only are they good at the diabolo, ball juggling and plate spinning, some even managed to meld dance with their art. Let’s give a big hand to this new breed of Hong Kong circus artists!
